Adventure Medic is delighted to introduce Dr Yashvi Wimalasena and Dr Jan Trojanowski and their ‘Extreme Medicine’ video podcasts.

Yash is a consultant in Emergency Medicine and current Sydney HEMS fellow. Jan works as a consultant in Emergency Medicine in Canada with fellowships in Critical Care and Retrieval medicine. Both are passionate about the great outdoors and practising medicine in remote or austere environments.

Together, over the next few months, we will be taking you all over the world, from mile-high medicine aboard a 747, to the poles and up into space through a series of educational video podcasts on all things extreme medicine.

To whet your appetite, we begin with a tour of Everest Base Camp and Everest ER, the world’s highest medical facility at 5345m.

Come back next week for the first videocast in the series, an interview with the Spring 2014 Everest ER medical team.
